The National Council for Women Society of Nigeria(NCWS) which clocked 60 years in 2020, has inaugurated its youth wing forum to cater for women nationwide. This would be the first time a forum such as this would be coming on board.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held recently in Abuja, the seat of the Federal Capital, the National President, Chief Dr. (Mrs) Gloria Laraba Shoda enjoined the new executives to be above aboard and God Fearing
“You people should be ready to serve at all times and you should not be found wanting”, she told the Executives.
She reminded them that the NCWS was founded in 1958 as the umbrella body of all women’s groups and associations in Nigeria.
She said that the Council Is live in the 36 states of Nigeria as well as the 774 local government council areas including the Federal capital.
“There are also numerous professional, socio-cultural and humanitarian organizations affiliated to the council at the national and state levels”, she revealed, stressing that the NCWS is the only women organization registered with the International Council of Women(ICW) worldwide.
Responding, the newly inaugurated National Youth Coordinator, Ambassador Sylvia Sarki, on behalf of the other Exco’s thanked the NCWS leadership for what he calls “the rare privilege” to serve the “beautification” process of the Society.
While acknowledging that “to whom much is given, much is expected”, he declared his undiluted loyalty to the management and promised to serve diligently with his new Exco.
