A new group, the Abuja based Edo State Peace Forum has disclosed why they are against comrade Adams Oshiomole’s antics to deny Godwin Obaseki’s second term in office. In a statement released in Abuja, the group charged Obaseki to be very vigilant and guard against any attempt to unseat him.
The statement urged Obaseki to defend his rights arguing that there was nothing wrong in using his position to assert his authority. The statement drew the attention of Obaseki/Shuaibu Movement to how Oshiomole had conspired against former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and treacherously removed him from office. “Today, Ambode has been consigned into political oblivion while Oshiomole’s star is on the rise”, the statement noted.
The group praised the Obaseki /Shuaibu Movement for their resistance so far and called on them not to relent. “Oshiomole has said before that anyone going into politics must be ready to play dirty; therefore, Obaseki and his group should be ready; nobody should have the monopoly of violence and if some people decide to play rough ignoring the laws of the land, then it is unfortunate.
The group welcomed the reconstituted Reconciliation Committee to resolve the needless crisis in the State and urged Chief Bisi Akande to face the task squarely.
