Nearly 300 political appointees have lost their jobs in the running battle between Chief Godwin Obaseki; Governor of Edo State and the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
Also, four Council Chairmen, Egor, Esan West, Estako West and Etsako East have also been swept off. Addressing newsmen in Benin City, Chief Obaseki lashed out at his opponents claiming “APC belong to us, we are going nowhere”.
Obaseki stated that his government is one of real change and concerned about youth empowerment. He said no matter the provocation by a handful of individuals who feel he should leave the Party for them, they will be the ones to leave.
Obaseki said his government has performed beyond expectations and he was confident of securing the Party’s ticket for a second term in office.
But the battle for the soul of the party’s leadership in Edo State has spilled into the open and now there ias no longer any pretense.
