An Abuja based professional Group the Association for Good Governance (AGG) has told Hon. Rally Iriase former member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Owan East Local Government to pocket his thoughts of Mr. Godwin Obaseki. The veteran member had called on Mr. Godwin Obaseki to account for N251.08 billion he allegedly misappropriated since assumption of office.
Speaking at a public fora in Abuja, Chairman of the Abuja based group, Comrade James Akande disclosed that Hon. Pally Iriase was the last person to ask the Edo State Governor to render account of his financial stewardship.
The Chairman wondered how cheap some people can be when confronted with life challenges. “This is a man who held sway twice as Local Government Chairman, before moving to the National Assembly”, Comrade James told his audience. “For years, they thrived under the tutelage of late Chief Anthony Anenih and Alhaji Inu Umoru. “ Nobody else qualified for Government positions except them”, lamented Comrade James. “Today, the chairman bemoaned, just because they are out of office, they have suddenly found the guts to call on others to account for their stewardship in Government. Comrade James charged Obaseki to remain undaunted and urged him focus on his job. “People like Iriase are just seeking for relevance – and he should not be given”. The group then hailed Senator Victor Kassim Oyofo as the most credible of the last chieftains that has emerged from Edo State political scene. They handed the Edo North big shot for his loyalty, commitment to his party the PDP. “Others like Pally Iriase have crossed carpet several times jumping from one boat to the other seeking for what to eat, but senator Oyofo has remained calm building on his reputation”, the group noted. “Oyofo can speak for the people, not Pally Iriase. He lost that responsibility when he showed his partisanship; he should be ignored”, added Comrade Akande.
