Major General DH Ali-Keffi has taken over the mantle of leadership of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Div in Kaduna and read a riot act to all criminal elements operating within the division’s area of responsibility.
Taking over as new GOC, 1 Div, General Ali-Keffi said that the days of the criminal gangs in Kaduna state and all the states within his division are numbered, adding that the security challenges in his new area of responsibility would be tackled decisively.
The new GOC made the statements at the division’s headquarters in Kaduna when he took over from Major General US Mohammed who has been posted to the Defence Headquarters as head of the research and development branch.
In a statement by Col Ezindu Idima, the division’s spokesman, General Ali-Keffi vowed to go the extra miles to ensure that peace is restored in his AOR as soon as possible.
He said, “In line with the Chief of the Army Staff’s vision to reposition the Nigerian Army for better performance, I will guarantee the restoration of peace and order to these areas within my time as GOC.
He commended the former GOC for the enviable achievements he made in his time and pledged to consolidate on his predecessor’s successes to justify the confidence the army high command reposed on him.
In his handover remarks, General Mohammed gave a high estimation of General Ali-Keffi’s confidence and ability to deliver on his new assignment; and urged officers and men of the division to give him the same support and cooperation they gave him in his time.
At the end of the handing and taking over the ceremony, the new general officer commanding commissioned the newly built stallion officers transit camp 4, and the first NA’s electronic fire point at the division. He also inaugurated the drivers and caterers course and inspected some ongoing projects within the division.
