The fragile ceasefire negotiated by US President Donald Trump appears to hold as embattled Hamas, the terror organization that rules the war torn enclave creeps back, executing innocent Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel

Hamas have long set their agenda: the destruction of Israel and nothing else. They are only biding their time; that determination is seen by the needless execution of fellow Palestinians without proper trial on the pretext that they collaborated with their sworn enemy, Israel. And this is happening even before the ink used in penning the ceasefire agreement dried up! Hamas can’t operate without restraint; Gaza is in rubbles and thousands of souls lost; yet, after two years, you think, there will be some lessons learnt and you ask yourself, if they are fighting the same war as the Palestinian Liberation Movement led by Mahmood Abbas.
It has been said again and again; violence can never get them their aspiration; at best, they can only harvest more deaths. With almost a generation of leaders already lost, there is nothing more to prove except to capitulate and turn a new leaf. World Leaders who supported the recognition of a Palestinian State should be wondering what is Hamas driving at by these reckless executions; definitely, they would know that is the wrong way to consolidate. And if the goal is the creation of a Palestinian State, they have to work in line with civility; another round of bloodshed now would truncate whatever was achieved few days back. US President Donald Trump has been incredible, enforcing a ceasefire agreement and rallying other Muslim brothers to cooperate.
Hamas are no better than fellow Muslim leaders in Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia which toe the path of peace; if they cannot disarm on their own, they should step back and allow foe peaceful rebuilding of the enclave. There is no way they be allowed to continue their presence within. The days of radicalism and violence are over; they should cash in on the return of the Israeli hostages and embrace peace. Any return to war would tantamount to reversing that gains of the recent past; that is not necessary; the Israelis want to rebuild, so are the non-violent Palestinian’s. The era of spilling blood should be over; Hamas must disarm and step back for reason to prevail! The two million people that live in the embattled zone should be allowed to breath, no more no less!
