Extremist Ali Khamenei of Iran has so far fired tens of hundreds of ballistic missiles at a sovereign nation and hopes to acquire a nuclear bomb soon to complete his dream of doomsday for the Jews; he wants to be seen as the ultimate messiah who delivered the “final solution”. This editorial examines the opaque reason behind his reckless gamble and what might be the endgame
Ali Khamenei sits atop the throne in Iran and deludes himself that his avowed dream of striving to exterminate the Jews is achievable. So deep has this insane dream sunk that the entire Middle East may be dragged into a conflagration means nothing to him—just like the blood of thousands of innocent Palestinian children. The hauling of hundreds of ballistic missiles at the Jewish state exemplifies that very fact. But, first, let’s deal with other issues emerging on the sidelines before hitting Khamenei. One of them has to do with a fellow called Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is currently the president of Turkey, a position he has held since 2014; before then, he served as the 25th prime minister from 2003 to 2014; born on 26 February 1954, he is about 70 years old today.
Erdogan has been a vocal critic of Israel, calling the Prime Minister a “murderer” and branding him as “Hitler”. However, in Erdogan’s Turkey, dissent is not allowed. Since 2014, several crackdowns have been on the opposition seeking to replace him in power. Erdogan has conducted more sham elections than ever imagined and now leading his country into a full-blown dictatorship. That’s the same man criticizing Benjamin Netanyahu. Then, there is French President Macron who recently, also called for an “arms embargo” on Israel for what he says was to stop the “genocide” in Gaza. If this statement is not hypocritical, Benjamin Netanyahu would not have called him “shameless”. Both Erdogan and Macron signpost the growing anti-Semitism now spreading across the world against Israeli’s effort to defend itself from fanatical extremists, spearheaded by the demagogue, Ali Khamenei. The spiritual leader has proceeded to arm jihadists and shite Muslims embedded in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Together, they now constitute the “ring of fire” Israel is now confronting in the Middle East.
The use of the word “ring of fire” is a term referring to the indiscriminate barrage of assorted Rockets, ballistic Missiles, and drones aimed at Israel. To Khamenei and his collaborators in the United Nations, it is alright to do that. The conspirators are livid at the lack of success in the hundreds of projectiles so far fired, at residential areas, schools, hospitals, and any possible spot where the Jews reside. This is attributed to the extensive preparations made by the Israelis since the last 2006 war with Hezbollah. The aftermath of that war allowed Hezbollah to be overconfident; Nasrallah boasted and derided Israel as “weaker than a spider’s web” and threatened severally to send them to “hell”. However, while he, Hassan was boasting, the Israelis, retreated and prepared for another day. The whirlwind humiliation of the once dreaded Hezbollah is the result of that tactical preparation today; Hezbollah has been decimated and dealt a severe blow that can only come from the people of God!
Isn’t it surprising that Hassan Nasrallah could be so easily eliminated? and as Netanyahu disclosed” we are changing the balance of power in the north of Israel” And what followed next was the massive bombing of Lebanon—poor Lebanon. Over now to Ali Khamenei whose fiery preaching against the Jews has reached a crescendo; the Islamic demagogue calls it a “blessing” whenever Jews are killed and he sees an end to what he calls the “occupation” soon. If the truth be told, he should be very careful from now on; very few, if any would shed tears at his demise, for that is where his negative policies are headed. It is against this background that the statements credited to Erdogan and Macron are viewed as “incredible”. Leaders who should know pretend not to—as it was in the days preceding the holocaust! And strangely, the United Nations are culpable in this absurd drama That the Middle East today cannot breathe fresh air because of the ugly acts of Khamenei is regrettable. It is time for Iran to be free. As for Palestinians, they are a different breed of people; only recently, they were seen jubilating over the missile attacks against Israel.
The implication of that is there is nothing left to be salvaged from them, except misery! They are so hard-boiled that to them violence is child’s play. They are sold to the idea that someday they will return to their “father’s” land which is undeniably a pipedream. Unless they change direction and thoughts, no Palestinian living today may taste the blessings freely given to them in life. Are there no other places they could inhabit? What is the point of fighting a lost battle? The Israelis a far stronger than them and that is period! The two-state solution often mouthed by pretentious leaders worldwide is nothing but a ruse. The Palestinians say they want the “right of return” to places like Beersheba, Dimona, Tel Aviv, Nazareth, and others! And where does that leave the Jews? The sea? That is simply an illusion. Erdogan and Macron ought to have addressed this rather than heap blame on people who want to survive! This is why Hezbollah, Hamas, Iraqis, and Houthis can wake up and fire tens of thousands of rockets, drones, and missiles claiming to be fighting for a just cause.
The October 7, 2023 surprise attacks on the Israeli Kibbutz only reinforced the feeling that the Palestinians have learned nothing from history—or conveniently refused to. Are Egyptians and Jordanians not Arabs? Are they not living side by side with the Jews? Why are the Palestinians so difficult to deal with? Turn your minds to the Biblical days of Pharoah, in Egypt, the Israelites suffered greatly and were heavily “taxed”. The more that happened, the more they expanded until they were set free by God Almighty. Arriving at the promised land, they were confronted by iron-clad enemies, some with the appearance of Lion; they were described as “giants” in many instances; but they survived. Though the Bible referred to what they went through in the hands of the Babylonians and Romans, coming to our generation, Hitler tried to exterminate them, using the gas chambers; yes, gas chambers! It remains to be seen if there are any other qualifications for “extreme wickedness”. 6 million Jews were murdered in that spree, but the Jews again survived.
Now, here comes Ayatollah Khamenei who succeeded Khomeini before him. So, when Netanyahu tells Khameini that he does not “understand” like he wanted Nasrallah and Sinwar to, he is sending a message! “Look at the past, guys, and think; we are here to stay permanently!” Netanhayu would hope Khameini understood before it was too late. Like past enemies of Israel, one after the other, all went underground; Goliath who was the biggest threat in the Biblical days was himself neutralized. And those who do not see semblance of the same with Biblical days only have to look at the striking similarities. Haman in the book of Esther tried to exterminate the Jews; see how God overturned that action; For real, how do you survive hundreds of ballistic missiles sent to a particular direction if not God? Pray, let Khameini “understand”. This is why it is alarming for a Palestinian envoy to insist—even now in 2024—at a time he wasn’t yet born, that Palestinian lands were “unjustly” ceded to the Jews in the famous 1917 Balfour Declaration, by the United Kingdom.
The envoy also stressed the “displacement” of Palestinians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict as among the burning issue on the ground. Assuming, this is the case, what prevents the Palestinians from toying the path of peace to achieve their goal? by insisting that, the entire Israel belongs to them, how would that help their cause? it also renders their argument puerile. It is patently unreasonable and wicked to just discount the Bible and dismiss the Jews as non-existent people. The land of Canaan as it was in the Bible is the same today. Archeologists both Palestinians and Jews alike have proven this. The Palestinians cannot claim to know more than the writers of the Bible which came by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, neither can they claim to be more righteous than the Jews.
The Israelis withdrew from Gaza unilaterally to give peace a chance; they also left the Sinai Peninsula for the Egyptians as well as the West Bank taken from Jordan. But this generation of extremists led by the Ayatollahs think they know more than the rest of the world-notwithstanding their secret hegemonic ambition. Ali Khamenei believed he was the ultimate messiah saddled with the mandate to destroy the Jews; Therefore, the call for ceasefire is belated; Since the Arabs are bent on wiping out the Jews, let them go ahead and do their worst; The 1967 Yom Kippur wars, the 1973 conflict, the 1982 invasion of Lebanon; they should read the history of Yasser Arafat, and work out a foreseeable future for themselves. sadly, this violent circle cannot be halted.
And Al-Jazeera keeps inflaming tensions mindlessly; how unfortunate to see innocent children exposed to this horror. Before the demise of Hassan Nasrallah, this writer used to shiver whenever he came on screen to rail against Israel, warning them to be careful. We almost believed he was indeed fearsome and invincible; at last, when they came for him, his body was pulled out from the rubble of his headquarters! It would be wise for Khamenei to take heed. Hashem Saffedine touted to be the next “khalifah” after Nasrallah, was visibly sweating on the day he addressed the press; a few days later, some bunker-bursting bombs neutralized him, and to the time of writing this, his cell phones remained silent! Would Khamenei listen? Would he understand? Only time will tell as it did in the case of Nasrallah. Whatever happened to reason and wisdom? And yet Israel occupies only a tiny portion of the vast stretch in the Middle East!
